Origins of this content
This texteo, dialectically holding two videos—my student's assignment and my video interpretation (transcribed as text below)—was developed in 2008 as I attempted to write concise, systematic lessons from the output and experiences of LFYT 2007, in particular in relation to the deconstruction of binaries that would typically allow for orderly pedagogy. In this texteo I respond to delainemureno's early course work for LFYT 2007: What can YouTube teach us?
Contextualization
"The fact that two poles of a contradictory antithesis can manage to coexist as a whole is regarded in popular wisdom as a paradox. The paradox is a recognition that two contradictory, or opposite, considerations may both be true. This is a reflection in thought of a unity of opposites in the material world." [cit]

"The Real, (Lacan): The state of nature from which we have been forever severed by our entrance into language. Only as neo-natal children were we close to this state of nature, a state in which there is nothing but need ... As far as humans are concerned, however, 'the real is impossible,' as Lacan was fond of saying. It is impossible insofar as we cannot express it in language because the very entrance into language marks our irrevocable separation from the real."[cit]

"The word cyberspace was coined by the science fiction author William Gibson, who sought a name to describe his vision of a global computer network linking all people, machines, and sources of information in the world and through which one could move or 'navigate' as through a virtual space."[cit]

YOUTUBE UNSETTLES COMFORTING BINARIES

I perform these words: "Delaine's self-referential performance does and shows the thing itself, in this case the unsettled and unsettling separation of the aural from the visual, the cyber from The Real."
