Origins of this content
This video by Footballbob22, responds to one of the earlier assignments—"What can YouTube teach us?"—given to students in LFYT 2007. The fact that I mistook it for a "productive fake documentary" became a critical part of my FakeTube Project. I later blogged, spoke, and published on it (and other videos) as promised.
Contextualization
I have written elsewhere that fake documentaries are "fiction films that make use of (copy, mock, mimic, gimmick) documentary style and therefore acquire its associated content (the moral and social) and associated feelings (belief, trust, authenticity) to create a documentary experience defined by their antithesis, self-conscious distance."[cit]

Parody, "a literary or musical work in which the style of an author or work is closely imitated for comic effect or in ridicule,"[cit] is also a key tactic of postmodernism "because it foregrounds quotation and self-referentiality."[cit]
