With its proximity to the Nevada Test Site, Nellis Air Force Base, and to the country-sized Nellis Range Complex to the north, Las Vegas has long been a home to military personnel assigned to classified projects and locations.

At downtown Las Vegas’ McCarren Airport (LAS), a small terminal on the west end of the airport serves as the home base for the Janet fleet. The vast majority of Janet flights depart from and return to Las Vegas. The Janet terminal at LAS goes by the code name Gold Coast.
